The
Indian Institute of Research in Numismatic Studies
is already well known by European Scholars specializing
in the field of Indian numismatics so that I knew
beforehand, from reports of colleagues who had
happened to come here, how fine an institution
it was. I must say that I found everything even beyond
my expectations: fine building where it is a pleasure
to
stay, a good library and card indexes besides attending
the 2nd international seminar held here. I was able
to
enjoy the lavish hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Maheshwari
and had very fruitful discussions with colleagues
from
India and abroad. I learnt a lot in a very friendly
and pleasant atmosphere and I truly believe we have
all
to thank a great benefactor, Shri Maheshwari and a
great scholar Dr. P. L. Gupta for having built this
Institute and making it the best tool for numismatic
studies now existing in India. Many European countries
would rejoice to have such a well performing Institution. |
